Painting is a visual art considered to have been created primarily for aesthetic purposes and judged for its beauty and meaningfulness. There are many mediums to use when painting such as watercolors, oil paint, gouache, tempera, ink and acrylics. I have a BFA in painting and find that painting is the foundation in all of my artwork whether I am using watercolors for illustrating or painting ink on to a printing plate when I am creating a monotype.
