Printmaking is the process of making artworks by printing, normally on paper. Printmaking has an element of originality, rather than just being a photographic reproduction of a painting. Except in the case of monotype or mono print, the process is capable of producing multiples of a same piece, which is called a print. There are many techniques or processes of making prints. Some of these are called , etching, drypoint, woodcut, linocut, monotype, collagraph and serigraphy known as a silkscreen. As a printmaker, I have made prints using all of the above processes.
